When used in conjunction with ceramic composite upgrade plate the SCO/IIIA-1 will defeat high velocity single rifle fire (six shots NIJ level III standard) or ( one shot NIJ Level IV standard) depending on the plate used.

1012-GR-III and 1012-GR-IV HARD ARMOUR UPGRADE PLATES
250 mm x 300 mm single curve ceramic composite upgrade plates provide either Level III or Level IV production in conjunction with SCO/IIIA-1 vest.
Each plate comprises a ceramic plate supported by glass reinforced plastic (GRP) laminate.
Protection Level
In conjunction with the Level IIIA vest the plates will defeat the following rounds at 5m range and limit blunt trauma to very low levels.
